Every year I race to see the films nominated for Golden Globes and Academy Awards. This year I'm also trying to watch all of Ebert's favorites from 2008. All in all, it's some serious movie viewing following an unintended six month movie fast. I am excited to discover some new films to treasure.Because I'm all about the lists I have all the Oscar nominated films (excluding shorts--both live action and animated). The ones I've seen I'll highlight using a Red font and keep updating as I see them.

What did you think about The Curious Case of Benjamin Button? Had you read it before you saw it?
I'm curious (haha) to see how such a short piece of writing can become such a long movie!
I thought the film was good. I had crying moments, espec. toward the end. In some ways I felt a bit like how I felt watching Forrest Gump, since it's about a lifelong journey of an unusual man. I did feel it was FAR too long... I realize it might have needed to be, but I didn't feel sucked in to the film for every second there... it did drag for me now and then.
